1st International workshop on Designerly HRI knowledge: Bridging HRI and Design Research

04-09-2020

This international workshop takes place during half a day in Naples, Italy, in conjunction with the 29th IEEE International Conference RO-MAN 2020. This first edition, which will bring Human Robot Interaction (HRI) and Human Computer Interaction (HCI) together, is dedicated to the investigation of designerly forms of knowledge in HRI. In particular, we will discuss the concept of intermediate-level knowledge through the specific perspective of HRI studies.

By exploring perspectives, approaches, methods, tools, techniques, and contributions that fall within the concept of intermediate-level knowledge, we will start a conversation on what HRI design epistemology is (i.e., the study of knowledge creation) and could be, and how to evaluate and legitimate knowledge produced through HRI design practices.

Member of the organizing committee is Nazli Cila, she is Design researcher and teacher at the Digital Life Center research group, part of the Faculty of Digital Media and Creative Industries at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences.
